Manado Chinese Temple
The Chinese temples have an architecture of their own. What was always puzzling to me was the names of the Chinese God's . I always wondered , which God, I was worshiping, when at the Chinese Temple.
The Manado Chinese Temple is a very famous spot in Manado city. There is a secret corner within the temple, where the God descends to bless its subject.
Whatever, the temple is 3 floors and the God of God's sits on the Third floor. Luckily, I was allowed on the third floor.

They say worshiping here once in life takes you direct to Heaven.
One has to Climb Three floors to meet the God of Gods.

Manado Cemetry Museum
Manado Cemetry Museum
It was little surprising for me to see or may be I am wrong that the museum aftifacts still existed in this little unknown museum.
Notoriously, most museums have lost their original artifacts to European museums with the height of loot being, when a complete museum in Jogja was sold out by the curators themselves to European buyers and the artifacts were replaced with copies.
This little museum at the outskirts of Monado city houses the grave yard from 15th century and beyond. But there are some artifacts, which could have been interesting for any collector.

Manado Rain Forest
The Manado Rain forest is a 2 hours drive out of Manado City , but is worth the effort. Lots of people stay back there for a night or two and rent a small cottage. There are no good hotels around, but some people rent out their cottages there.
Once in the forest, the guide will lead you to the home of the smallest monkey in the world, which is carniverous. The guide makes a shshshshs sound and calls the monkey and then offers him a flying insect. Which the little thing jumps 2 metres and catches and returns to the hole in the tree.
Well, if you are lucky ,you might find some other animals. The forest is connected to the beach and during holiday time, the locals come over for a picnic.

Lombok Trip, Holiday Resort.
Lombok is the island in West Nusa Tenggera Province of Indonesia. It is not that far from Bali and many a tourist from Bali take a short trip to Lombok.
Lombok though has been described as a good tourist destination, but badly falls short of that image. The only places which are livable are the Hotels lined up on the beach.
One has to only be restricted to the hotel and its pool. There is no other place around for touring around.
It is very difficult to choose the right one, but I would strongly recommend the " Holiday Resort' as a good offering. The villas are nice and has very nice garden and pools.
The beach itself is not so exciting with black sand.
The restuarants around the city are of mediocre quality.
The trip to Gilli is worth the investment.
Enjoy the pictures of the hotel " Holiday Resort" . Though some of my friends , who stayed at Novotel have also recommended that property. But it is a full 2 hours drive out of the airport.

Magelang Railway Musuem
The not so well kept Railway Museum.
Magelang is a cool 3 hours drive out of Jogja city . It is a old dirty laid back city and has one small Railway museum tucked into for some unknown reason. The museum owing to its odd location is rarely visited by anyone.
The Museum is poorly kept and the collection is good. The steam engines are good recall for my generation, who spent their early childhood being hauled by these locomotives. It did not end there, we were also forced to learn the Locomotive Boiler to qualify to be an engineer.

Hyatt Yogya
I am very fussy with my hotel choice. At Jogja, it is always the Hyatt. And interestingly, it is the only Hyatt, where the staff genuinely has warmth and feeling for the guest. The Hotel is only Regency, but would well qualify to be a 5star. It is more like a resort with Golf course attached to it.
The swimming pool is very nice and the breakfast has a good spread.
Infact, I would rate the Hyatt Jogja even better then the Hyatt Sanur. The rooms are small, but if you can get a room facing the Golf Coarse and some rooms have a balcony attached to it, the stay gets more exciting.
If you choose the Executive room, the evening cocktails are nice.
Enjoy the pictures here.
