Last week, I was again in Bangalore exploring new business.
This time, it was St Marks Road, where I stayed. After much researching, I found that in India hotels have now been priced even higher then Europe and US . I therefore decided to stay at a Desi Hotel Nandhini in St Marks Road. Hmmmmm, what a disaster! Having booked with Make my trip, the whole thing was a fiasco.
I booked a " Suite " Room for two nights at Hotel Nandhini St Marks Road thru Make My Trip.

Tea Machine with no cups. And ofcourse No Drinking Water.
Make My Trip Services :
The voucher from Make My Trip arrived full 30 hours late, whereas any other global site I buy a hotel, the voucher arrives instantly.
At the time of Check in at the hotel, to my great agony at 1.30 am in the night, there is no reservation made by make my trip for me. The hotel somehow allows me to take a Suite Room.
Next day early morning at 6.00 am , I announce to the hotel that with the condition of the hotel I could not sleep for the full night and I would like to cancel the second night there. The Hotel tells me to contact Make My Trip, whom I religiously contact and they said, they will speak to the GM of hotel and advise me of my refund for cancellation. After 3 days, no contact from Make My Trip and with a strong follow up mail ,comes the answer that Hotel has a policy of no refund for cancellation. I lost Rs 3000 for my second night cancellation, but I am happy that I cam out intact from that hotel.
Shall not recommend " Make My Trip " to anyone for hotel bookings etc. Later I found many more reviews on the internet , where Make My Trip had defaulted badly. So, if you wish to enter into trouble, buy yourself a hotel voucher from Make My Trip, otherwise, better choose some international site.
On Nandhini Hotel : At the time of Check in at 1.30 am, the receptionist was absconding and later came out wiping his eyes out of some room. Apparently has taken one of the room for sleeping. He then checked his records and announced that there was no booking by Make My Trip and with the copy of my voucher gave me the suite room.
After entering my Suite Room , I am horrified, the room is stinking and not just stinking, it is horribly stinking with carpet smell and Naphthalene balls. But it does not end there. The suite room is a middle room and hence has no windows. This was most shocking. The highest category room has not windows. After complaining, I was moved to another suite room, which was smaller then the size of a standard room in the front facing the road. The passing traffic sound was so disturbing that I could not sleep the full night.
I walked down at 6.00 am and complained about the quality of the hotel and informed him that I would rather check out and requested for the cancellation of the second night. The receptionist asked me to wait till the GM comes at 9 am.
At this point, I for breakfast and I am told the breakfast will be ready at 7am. Then at 7am, I am told it would take another 15 minutes. Finally a breakfast of simply no value.
When the GM arrives, he advises only Make My Trip can cancel the hotel and very proudly the hotel manager announced that they have now received the full payment and they will not bother to refund anything. However, if Make My Trip wants, they can refund to me. What a shame on a business, who provides extremely poor quality of service and on cancellation of further service, takes away the money paid in advance with a Trust of quality .
I walked out and went across to a Hotel 9 Marks Inn at St Marks Road. A very sober and small hotel, where the manager was so kind and humble that he gave me a club room at a reasonable price and I took the hotel. Later I realized that it was a real nice hotel with excellent service and I will recommend to anyone going to Bangalore and staying in that part of the town to choose it without a second thought. It is a non fancy small hotel, but nice, clean, modern and very good service.
