Ghongulu - Mashed Turnips!

Ghonghlu Hunted Out Of Ranch Market in Surabaya.

In punjab is known as Gonghulu , what is Turnips to the rest of the world.

Gonghulu is the mashed variety of shalgam, wherein the flavor of Turnips is allowed to show up with a dash of white sugar. The secret is that the ghonghlu is always served on the top of a hot chapati , sitting right in the center.


Recipe;
Turnips : 2 to 3 large.
Salt : Pinch
Pepper : Pinch
Corainder Powder : Pinch
Chilli Powder : Pinch
Sugar : 1 T.
Cummin seeds : Little
Hing : Pinch

Peel the Turnips and Cube it down .

Boil the Cubes till tender.
Pull out the Tender Turnips and Mash it to Heluva.
At this stage, oil the wok and spice it up with coriander powder, red pepper, Hing , salt and crash the Heluva Turnips into the wok. Stir it and taste it as you go. Ready within 3 mins .
